Community Waitākere Launches Impact-driven Strategy

‘To build thriving environments—one person, one neighbourhood, and one community at a time.’

This is the purpose guiding Community Waitākere’s reimagined Strategy, charting a clear course for the organisation and direction for the future.

Developed by Community Waitākere CEO, Kerry Allan, the Strategy is a clear reflection of the workforces’ collective aspirations for the future. Allan explains.

“Well-planned and purpose-driven community development initiatives can transform lives, bringing lasting change to both communities and the natural environment. The Strategy provides a unified rhythm for us all – strong in our direction, our intention and our focus on the future.”

Recognising the expertise of every team member, it was essential to ensure their input shaped the strategy. Allan continues:

“Using a collaborative approach, we delved into each workstream with curiosity to uncover what we were ultimately striving to achieve—what tangible impacts we could deliver in 2, 5, and 10 years. Long-term thinking is fundamental to this approach, offering a clear line of sight toward a future where communities thrive.”

The reimagined Strategy is a shared commitment to fostering resilience, equity, and sustainability across communities. By combining collaborative vision with long-term thinking, Community Waitākere is not only responding to the challenges of today but also laying the foundation for a brighter, more connected future. Through collective action and an unwavering focus on impact, the organisation continues to empower individuals, neighbourhoods, and communities to thrive together.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
